Chris Hunder is a 17 year veteran with a strong track record of driving business strategy improvement.  Chris has a history of helping his clients elevate their business IQ which he couples with decision process discipline to deliver superior results. 

At The ROIG Group, Chris provides strategy consultation for individual businesses/categories, intelligence competencies, business research, and management systems for a company’s business portfolio.

Professional Highlights

A sample of Chris’ recent work at The ROIG Group includes:

  • Development of company-wide Portfolio Management  platform to manage disparate set of businesses across several billion dollar organization
  • Work to upgrade merchandise decision-making and planning, and thereby drive reinvention of category strategies
  • Consulting for top manufacturer on optimum approaches to retail

Prior to the ROIG Group, Chris designed and implemented state-of-the-art Business Portfolio processes for several national retailers encountering significant change.  This work also included developing a fact-based organizational foundation for intelligent decision-making, as well as, product strategic planning processes.

Before this, Chris spent 7 years at Best Buy in a strategy advisory role partnering on its most important product categories and working on top emerging technologies, including the company’s HDTV launch.  He created and annually led the successful ‘future of consumer technologies’ tour, which was attended by key industry stakeholders including USA Today, New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Chris also proactively spearheaded Best Buy’s Market Intelligence capability as company expert on top technologies, vendors, trends and competitive threats.  He also devised groundbreaking business metrics and participated in the development of many of the company’s core processes. 

Early in his career, Chris worked as a consultant and business researcher for a variety of Fortune 500 companies emphasizing organizational and marketing development.  Chris also worked one-on-one with approximately ten thousand customers at retail.

Academic Background

Chris has an MBA from the University of Minnesota and was winner of the 23rd & 24th International Management Symposiums hosted by McKinsey & Company.
