Cory Hedin

Cory is an accomplished retail and small business leader with seventeen years of ‘big box’ experience.  His specialties include retail operations, strategy development, planning and execution for new and existing retail businesses.

 

At The ROIG Group, Cory leads the retail operations practices, providing expertise in retail sales development and training, retail management development, operational management and transformation services, and new business strategy development and implementation.

 

A sample of Cory’s recent work at The ROIG Group includes:

  • Developed ROIG’s CREATE and LEAD programs focused on sales development and leadership capability development, which includes video training modules, vendor partnership opportunities, and robust sales management practices.

  • Analyzed business performance and customer experience execution across key retailers in the wireless phone industry for the purpose of identifying gaps and recommending business improvements for a national retail store chain.

  • Developed strategic framework for a large OEM to consider entrance into national retail. This included concept benchmarking, business model design, customer value proposition creation and barriers for entry.

  • Led national retailer through diagnostics to determine operational and strategic changes needed to stop unnecessary margin erosion in their business model. Included vendor contract review, retail operational process, corporate support functions and 3rd party capability recommendations.


 

Professional Highlights

Prior to The ROIG Group, Cory spent fifteen years at Best Buy in retail management leading the strategy, planning and execution for specialized business disciplines.  His accomplishments include retail selling and operational support for multi-billion dollar business units including Home Theater, Computers, Digital Services and Best Buy Mobile.

 

In addition, Cory honed his consulting skills working with national retailers and suppliers on their go-to-market and turn-around strategies.
